Motorcycle Heated Gear Guide
Set Up Your Heated Gear
Fully charge your battery (or confirm your bike's wiring harness is connected) before heading out. A full charge ensures maximum runtime on your first ride.
Venture Heat motorcycle gear runs two ways: directly off your motorcycle's 12V battery using the included wiring harness, or off a portable 7.4V / 12V battery for off-bike warmth. Connect whichever source matches your gear.
Plug the garment's lead into the harness or battery connector until it clicks. For multi-piece setups (jacket liner + gloves), connect each piece to its dedicated lead.
Press and hold the controller button to power on. Cycle through the heat levels (typically high / medium / low) to find your comfort. On HeatSync-enabled gear, you can also adjust each zone from the app.
For HeatSync gear, download the AddHeat app, turn on Bluetooth, and follow the in-app pairing steps to control temperature and zones from your phone. See our HeatSync app guide for details.
Care & Maintenance
Always disconnect the battery and controller before cleaning. Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent, or use a gentle machine cycle in a mesh bag. Never wring, bleach, dry clean, or tumble dry — hang to air dry flat. Make sure the garment is completely dry before reconnecting power.
Store batteries at roughly half charge in a cool, dry place if you won't ride for a while. Recharge every few months during storage to preserve battery health. Avoid leaving batteries fully drained or in extreme heat or cold.
Route the harness away from hot engine parts and moving components. Use the inline fuse provided, and tuck unused connector ends away from the elements. Check connections periodically for corrosion or wear.
Wear your heated layer close to the body with a windproof shell over the top to trap warmth. Start on high to warm up quickly, then drop to medium or low to extend runtime once you're comfortable.
Motorcycle Guide FAQ
Yes. Most Venture Heat motorcycle gear includes a 12V wiring harness that connects to your bike's battery. You can also run many pieces off a portable battery for warmth off the bike.
Runtime depends on the heat level and the specific product. On lower heat settings you'll get significantly longer runtime than on high. Running off your motorcycle's 12V system gives you unlimited runtime while riding.
HeatSync-enabled products can be controlled from the AddHeat app over Bluetooth. Check your product page or controller for the HeatSync logo. See our HeatSync app guide to get started.
Yes — disconnect all electronics first, then hand wash or use a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag. Hang to dry and never tumble dry, bleach, or dry clean. Make sure it's fully dry before reconnecting power.
Check that the battery is charged or the harness is securely connected, confirm the controller is powered on, and inspect all connectors for a loose fit or corrosion. If it still won't heat, contact our team or review your warranty options.
