Taking Care of Heated Clothing

Spring is finally in full swing and most of us couldn’t be happier that the sun is shinning and temperatures are heating up.  So we just wanted to give you a few friendly reminders of the best ways to take care of your heated gear while it waits for next winter.

Remove battery and connecting cable (select models applied). We recommend spot cleaning with damp cloth or hand wash in cold water with mild detergent; hang dry only. Do not twist the garment to prevent damage to cable. Do not dry clean or bleach.

Glove batteries being charged.

1.) Plug charger into wall power outlet (before plugging battery into charger)
2.) Connect battery(s) into charger
3.) The charger light will turn from red to green once battery(s) is fully charged
*Do not overcharge the battery(s)*

*Reminder: as winter has come to an end (almost for some people) please fully charge your batteries every 3 months. This prolongs the battery life.*

BATTERY CARE (select models)
To prolong the optimal performance of our lithium-ion battery, we recommend the following steps:

  • Only use battery charger provided by Venture Heat
  • Fully charge the battery prior to first use (battery indicator will turn green).  Charging will vary and you should unplug the battery from charger after the battery is charged
  • Battery should be charged before storage and at least once every 3 months
  • Over time, lithium-ion batteries tend to lose their capacity due to their chemical nature. Erratic charging and heat speed up this degradation. Store in a cool and dry area. Typical battery life spans may range from 2-5 years even with ideal storage conditions and care
  • Do not use batteries that are not designed for the specific model (this voids the warranty and may cause damage)

Far Infrared Ray Heat Therapy – Does it work?

The simple answer is yes.  The long answer is still yes, but the FIR heat therapy wrap(s) should be used on a regular basis.

A little background on Far Infrared Ray (FIR):  it is essentially waves of energy that cannot be seen by the naked eye but can penetrate deeply into the body.  Once the rays penetrate the skin, they naturally raise the body’s temperature to about 107.6ºF which benefits the following:

  • Expands your capillaries which increases blood flow, regeneration, circulation and oxygenation
  • Boosts metabolism and promotes detox – eliminates fats, toxins, etc., from the blood
  • Stimulates enzyme activity
  • Improves the rebuilding of injured tissue
  • Promotes the relief of nerves
  • Increases white blood cell to support your immune system

As a new employee at Venture Heat, I was unaware of what Far Infrared Rays were or how they could benefit me, but I would soon find out.FIR Heat Therapy Knee Wrap

I have had on-and-off again knee issues from high school through adulthood, mainly due to sports and wear-and-tear over the years.  Growing up, hockey and lacrosse overlapped so it  was year-round training, practicing, and playing.  That has tapered off in adulthood, but that doesn’t mean the knee discomfort did.  Although I still play hockey and work out on a regular basis, my knee limited me to certain exercises – until I was given the Knee Heat Therapy Wrap as a welcome gift from Venture Heat.  Let’s just say I wish I had this FIR heat wrap when I was younger!  I started using the heated knee wrap after every hockey game and whenever I felt discomfort – so about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes.  After a month of consistently using it, the discomfort started to go away and is now almost unnoticeable.  We are not claiming this is a miracle worker, but FIR heat therapy can improve your quality of life – it has for me!

At-Home Heat Therapy Wraps v. Portable Heat Therapy Wrap

We get a lot of customers asking what the difference is between our At-Home Heat Therapy Wraps and the Portable Heat Therapy Wraps. The simple answer is that the portable wraps use our signature Lithium Ion batteries to power the heating elements, allowing Far Infrared Rays to penetrate the targeted spot.

The At-Home version works in the very same way, but instead of batteries, it receives energy from the outlet at your wall. Same as your lamp! Some people think that this means that it may have a stronger output, but rest assured, that regardless of the energy system, battery or outlet, you’ll receive the same energy output and treatment.

So which one should you choose? Well, that choice is entirely up to you, but in any case, you can rest assured knowing that you’re receiving the best FIR therapy money can buy.
